Frequent Breakdowns: Overused toilets often break down, worsening cleanliness and functionality. Loss of Dignity: Inadequate facilities lead to discomfort, stress, and reluctance to attend school. Social Stigma: Lack of access leads to teasing and reduced confidence. Reduced Focus: Needing to use the restroom without timely access distracts from studies. Menstrual Challenges:Insufficient facilities hinder proper menstrual hygiene management. Long Wait Times : Limited facilities cause extended waits, leading to frustration and health risks. Psychological Stress: Poor facilities increase stress and emotional distress. Educational Impact: Distractions and discomfort negatively impact academic performance.
School toilets with improper sanitation play a significant statistical and wide-ranging impacts on girls' health, hygiene, and education. Health-wise, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 10% of school-age girls in developing countries suffer from recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) due to poor sanitation. These infections, along with gastrointestinal diseases, are prevalent in unsanitary conditions, leading to chronic health issues and increased healthcare costs. The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) highlights that over 20% of girls in sub-Saharan Africa drop out of school due to inadequate toilet facilities, missing up to five days per month during menstruation.
In India, there are approximately 10,22,386 government schools. To address the urgent sanitation issues in government schools, we are raising funds to build GIRL FRIENDLY TOILETS. These eco-friendly restrooms will ensure proper hygiene and menstrual safety. Support our cause to provide a healthier learning environment for all students. In a government school with 450 students, during a short break of 10 minutes, many students are unable to use the restrooms because of long queues. As a result, they hold their urine and avoid drinking adequate water. There are also no proper cleaning and sanitation measures, which adds to menstrual-related problems for girl students. To address this significant issue, our THAAGM FOUNDATION NGO is raising funds and providing all the necessary support. We are building GIRL FRIENDLY TOILETS
For each single ONE RUPEE penny the donor contributes, we make it 100 percent transparent. We ensure it is inscribed on a commemorative stone.
