Thaagam Foundation receives donations of money. A donation is a gift towards a cause, not the purchase of goods or of a service, and nothing on this Website is offered for sale. This policy explains when a donation can be returned and when it cannot.
Definitions
- We, us and our mean Thaagam Foundation.
- You and your mean the person or organisation making the donation.
- Donation means the money you give towards a cause or initiative.
- Service date means the date you choose for your donation to be carried out in the field.
- Proof means the photographs of the completed service that we publish to your donation page.
When you can ask for a refund
You may ask for a refund up to one day before your service date. That is the only window in which a refund can be issued. A request that reaches us later than one day before the service date cannot be processed, because by then your donation has been committed to the field team carrying it out.
When a refund cannot be given
Once the service has been carried out and the proof photographs have been delivered to you, your donation has already been spent on the people it was given for. It cannot be refunded at that point, in whole or in part.
If the service does not happen on your chosen date
Field work depends on weather, access and the people we serve being present, so a service is occasionally not carried out on the date requested. If that happens, you may move your donation to another cause or initiative of your choice, and we will carry it out from there. A refund is not offered in this situation, as the donation stays with the work rather than returning to you.
How to ask for a refund
Tell us clearly that you want a refund and which donation it concerns. You can reach us through:

How an approved refund is paid
Once your request is approved, the amount is returned by bank transfer within 2 to 3 business days. You are charged no fee for the transfer.
